Lopez has been in business for over two decades serving Latin foods with a flare.  There is a full bar, outdoor patio, valet parking, private dining area and the menu has a selection of gluten-free items along with gluten-free beer – Green’s Amber Ale!  I have been dining at Lopez for almost as long as they have been open and have always had great food and service.  There are limited number of g-f selections including shrimp and grits, carnitas tacos and black beans with ham which are my personal favorites.  There are some others items that I have not tried yet:)  Let the management know that you saw this review – thank them for carrying g-f optionss and make recommendations for additional items to carry in the future (posted 9-14)

  1. Dinner at Lopez tonight, post movie at Cedar Lee. First off let me say how grateful I am to dine somewhere that offers items on the menu indicating the items that are fully safe for me to indulge. And then, I would be remiss, to express my gratitude for the ability to enjoy a cold beer with my meal – Greens! Tonight I had the shrimp and grits which are always a delight. Last week I had the lobster taco – ordered with the corn tortilla instead of flour to fill my gluten-free need. The cauliflower soup was super tasty according to my husband Tim (my always willing dinner companion making my gluten-free dietary needs his priority too) but for me it was a bit too much goat cheese!

  2. Lopez continues to work on their menu making additional g-f items available each season. This past weekend my husband and I shared the Watermelon Salad and I had the Duck Confit tacos and an ice cold Green’s Amber Ale. Lopez has offered Green’s exclusively as their g-f beer option for a number of years. In the past I have enjoyed the Shrimp and Grits, Ham hocks and Black beans, even the Butter Poached Lobster Taco on the corn tortilla (special request), Pulled Pork Carnitas Tacos and Eggplant Enchilada.
