Mimi’s had an article about a red brick pizza shop called My Pizzetta that just opened in North Royalton. They have GF. My son and I tried their regular pizza so far and it was very good. Not a sit-down but have a drive through. Their number is 440 237 1770. Mimis has half off gift certificates available. A 9″ pizza is about $8.50 with a topping. They have a website with their menu. They get their crusts from Mrs. P’s in Bedford which I saw online is a completely gluten free bakery. They separate the ingredients for the making of the GF pizza. All pizzas go through the same oven, putting the gluten free on a screen.
I’ll start with the positive: The service was excellent & the owner very kind. I asked Qs about the safety of their products and felt assured they were indeed carefully prepared to be GF. From a long list of topping combinations, I finally settled on the basil & fresh mozzarella. The toppings were pretty good. The pizza was prepared in around 5 minutes as promised.
Now the not-so-positive: The crust was not worth eating. Dry in most parts, unappealing texture & taste throughout. The price was also quite high, particularly given the quality of the pizza.
I like to support local businesses so will try this place one more time. I am hoping they have mastered their crust by the time I return. Love the concept of the place!
I contacted the General Manager of My Pizzetta, and he responded:
“Since we’ve spoken we have done some investigating in to the questionable products on our menu as to what is officially gluten free. We have come to find that the majority of our menu is indeed gluten free! The few items that are on our menu that AREN’T gluten free are our white and wheat crust, our white parm sauce, and our meatballs….that’s it!! We have been training our staff to be better educated about Celiac Disease and reassure our gluten free eaters of what is gluten free on our menu. We will be doing a menu overhaul at the beginning of next year (2015) that will include all gluten free info so it is out there, and hopefully sooner we will be publishing the information on our website. I wanted to reach out and share this information with you in hopes you can share it with other members in the community that live with Celiac Disease and want a great tasting and safe pizza to eat.
