Dinner at Pura Vida

Pura Vida hosted another GF dinner earlier this week and Mariann shared her experience.

The menu:

1st course:  Shrimp and Grits with Roasted Kale and Barbecue Sauce

2nd course:  Black Quinoa, Seared Scallops with Herb Oil and Mache

3rd course:  Duck Confit, Cassoulet with Lemon Drizzled Spinach
champagne palate soother


4th course:  Vanilla Whipped Cream with Blonde Cranberry Nut Brownie – Topped with a scoop of Pumpkin Ginger Ice Cream and G-F Ginger Snap Cookie

Our meal was divine, each dish perfectly prepared, plated and served!

The wine selections were great too!

GF Luncheon at Tri-C Eastern Campus

Cafe 4250, the culinary student run cafe, will offer a GF lunch special on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct 3 & 4, 11:30-1pm, Tri-C eastern campus.

The menu is: Cold Summer Soup, Honey Mustard Barbecue Chicken Breast with Grilled vegetables and Butternut squash puree, Peach Cobbler with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.

The cost is just $8.95. Make a reservation by calling 216-987-2496. Ask to be seated with the celiac support group (CDF NEO Chapter) on either day.

I enjoyed the GF lunch last spring.  The food was delicious and a bargain at the price.

GF Cooking Demo at the Hudson Library

Join Professional Chef Mariann Offtermatt at the Hudson Library & Historical Society for a discussion and cooking demonstration on gluten-free cooking and baking on Tuesday, October 2 at 7:00 p.m. A variety of sweet and savory gluten-free muffins will be on the menu for the evening. There will be a $5 materials fee to cover the cost of ingredients. Register in person at the library’s second-floor reference desk. No phone registrations will be accepted. Space is limited. For more information, call 330.653.6658, x1010. They will also accept payment ($5) by check  before the event. When they receive the check, they’ll save you a seat.

Courtyard Cafe is a cute place to eat in Brecksville on Rt 82 by Rt 21 in the corner at the plaza.

A  GF menu is available at the restaurant that lists appetizers, salads and main dishes.
