Located in historic downtown Willoughby the market carries a variety of locally sourced and produced gluten-free snacks and food products. Many of the items have been available via NEOhio’s rockin’ farm market vendors, some are available at local grocers but in this shop they are all easily identified and available.

The shop will also be creating events and lectures for informing the public on critical health and wellness issues including nutrition workshops.

Some of the items on the shelves this past week included Minus G, Cleveland Kraut, Rust Belt Pepper Co., Cleveland Pickles, salsas, nuts, crackers, and more!

Nothing Bundt Cakes

Many locations

First the bad news: Nothing Bundt Cakes makes beautiful (mostly) gluten filled cakes.

The (maybe) good news is that “gluten-free flavor is available at select bakeries”.

This bakery makes only bundt cakes in a variety of sizes. There were a number of flavors on display, one of which was gluten free chocolate chip.

The counter clerk shared a binder with cake ingredients and assured me that separate pans and utensils are used in preparation.

The “Bundtlet” was a large muffin size, moist and dotted with mini chocolate chips. It was topped with their signature cream cheese frosting. A truly decadent treat.

Two sizes are available gluten free. The “Bundlet” was $5 (50 cents more than the gluten filled options) and 8 inch for $25 ($3 more). The clerk said that cakes are available with 20 minutes notice.

I visited the South Euclid store located on the North side of Cedar Center – 13949 Cedar Rd, South Euclid, OH 44118.

Other nearby stores are in Avon (35925 Detroit Rd, Avon, OH 44011) and Canton (4468 Belden Village St NW, Canton, OH 44718). They may have the gluten free cakes.

Message from the baker Lindsey Schrock-
I am a celiac living in the Canton/Akron area of Ohio.
I have recently partnered with a  registered dietician and created The Bakery at Morning Mist Farm, a home bakery that produces gluten free cakes for the holiday season.
All of our cakes are baked in a dedicated gluten free facility.
Please note that our bakery is pick-up only; orders can be placed online but the cakes must be picked up on our designated pick-up dates.

Dessert Shop and Bakery offering cupcakes, scones both sweet and savory, muffins, whoopie pies and bread and rolls!  All gluten-free!!

Mariann writes 11/12/2016:

On this beautiful November Saturday our drive to the west side of Cleveland took us to the Lakewood neighborhood to check out the offerings at the newly opened Bouche Bakery and their g-f baked goods!

Our samplings for today included the savory cheddar jalapeno scone (5 stars according to my husband), vanilla frosted chocolate cupcake (beyond doubt the best chocolate cupcake we have ever tried and the buttercream frosting was extraordinary) and finally we even finished a slice of an amazing cinnamon bar (basically a nice thick slice of glazed cinnamon pecan bread).  We also brought home some blueberry muffins to taste test later in the week.
