Pinecrest, several Columbus locations

Kitchen Social has recently opened at Pinecrest. They also have several locations in the Columbus area.

I enjoyed dinner here on a recent weeknight. Reservations were definitely needed as the place was hopping, including the packed bar.

There is a gluten free menu with a number of options. The knowledgeable server assured that the kitchen takes appropriate precautions with allergen designated orders. My entree was announced as gluten free when it was served to me.

I would order the Grilled Salmon salad again. The greens were very fresh and the roasted sweet potatoes, quinoa, and almonds were a great combination of tastes. I just wish the fish had been served less well done.

Two companions tried the Tuna Bowl. One ordered off the regular menu and it was served with farro. The gluten free one had only rice. Otherwise, they looked the same. And both diners reporting liking the dishes.

As of my last visit there was no gf beer option. I’ve written to make a request. You can do same or express your desire to them when you are there to dine.

Steering committee members, Judy and Mary Lou have twice been to the Mentor, OH location on Mentor Ave. They have had positive experiences with the food and service and the knowledgeable kitchen.

Gluten-free pizza is available. G-f meatballs with Rigatoni is available. Pasta Primavera is available. Sandwiches are available (g-f bread upcharge applies). Many items on the menu can be modified to accommodate g-f diet.

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream

Chagrin Falls

Chagrin Falls is home to a Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream Scoop Shop and it is splendid to order ice cream there.

Most flavors are gluten free as noted on the menu.

The server was very helpful and offered to scoop from unopened containers to avoid cross contact with the waffle cones and bowls.

We weren’t the only ice cream lovers to enjoy the sweet treat while admiring the falls.
