Hello GF’ers! Happy New Year to you and yours! This post is just a sample of what we have to look forward to this coming summer!

!AS ALWAYS – BE YOUR OWN BEST ADVOCATE!

See this message from Carrie, Owner/Operator of It’s Only Fair, LLC

The flours that we use are mainly rice and tapioca. We expect to be all over Northeast Ohio, mainly Cuyahoga County.

We are currently looking to book events for 2025, but nothing scheduled yet.

I was diagnosed with celiac in 2024 but gluten free since 2023.

I was tired of only having a few safe places to eat and wanted to provide a gluten free food that isn’t being done, which just happened to be food that takes everyone back to their summer childhood days.

The best part of everything is seeing people’s happy faces when they are able to eat something that they haven’t had in years, or ever.

A note from Beverly, a newsletter subscriber:

This is an old school mom and pop diner kind of place, open only for breakfast and lunch. They have an extensive gluten free menu that is actually labeled “gluten free and celiac menu”, a dedicated gluten free toaster and a dedicated fryer. They also have a clearly labeled gluten free section on their specials list. When they make you a turkey Reuben it is with actual cooked turkey not deli meat. We’ve eaten breakfast and lunch there several times now successfully. They’re also kid friendly and good with other food issues.

We have a large following of patrons with celiac disease due to the menu offerings that are GI friendly.
We also are the resident caterer for all of the musicians at Jacobs Pavilion. Many require us to be gluten free.

Our full menu is available online at www.ninjacity.com. Here, we list items that are gluten free or can be made gluten free.
I would be happy to email a copy of our menu  and more details if you have questions.”

Check out the Cafe

With a commitment to healthy dishes, artisanal beverages, locally roasted coffee, locally sourced teas, locally baked breads and pastries, local procured dairy and produce sourced locally whenever possible!

Stopped at the Cafe today to grab a smoothie, many on the menu to pick from, along with a ‘create your own’. Requested banana, pineapple, coconut yogurt and orange juice. Super creamy and tasty! Also tried the Protein Power Bowl. Seasoned rice base with kale, tomato, feta and chopped chicken (tempeh option offered). Everything was wonderfully fresh, beautifully presented and super tasty!

The shop carries dry goods, supplements, produce, bottled beverages and much more. Check it out! If your friends choose another dining option from one of the other local vendors you can take your order to go and all share a table at the Market Hall. Across the street – Mitchell’s Ice Cream – what could possibly be better?

Kitchen Social

Pinecrest, several Columbus locations

https://ourkitchensocial.com/

Kitchen Social has recently opened at Pinecrest. They also have several locations in the Columbus area.

I enjoyed dinner here on a recent weeknight. Reservations were definitely needed as the place was hopping, including the packed bar.

There is a gluten free menu with a number of options. The knowledgeable server assured that the kitchen takes appropriate precautions with allergen designated orders. My entree was announced as gluten free when it was served to me.

I would order the Grilled Salmon salad again. The greens were very fresh and the roasted sweet potatoes, quinoa, and almonds were a great combination of tastes. I just wish the fish had been served less well done.

Two companions tried the Tuna Bowl. One ordered off the regular menu and it was served with farro. The gluten free one had only rice. Otherwise, they looked the same. And both diners reporting liking the dishes.
