Pinstripes is a sprawling entertainment and dining facility in Pinecrest.

From their website:

Pinstripes was built from a passion to gather, to celebrate, and to experience sophisticated fun. Gather around our outdoor fire pit, rival friends in a game of bocce, or lace up the bowling shoes in our grand rendition of the classic American pastime while you enjoy our Italian/American cuisine served from our scratch kitchen.

I enjoyed dinner in the Bistro on a recent spring evening. The hostess produced a gluten friendly menu when asked about gluten free availability. The server assured me that once she notes the “allergy” my food would be prepared separately in the kitchen.

The gluten friendly menu included salads, pastas, pizzas and entrees. The server said that pasta is prepared separately but pizza is made in a shared oven.

I enjoyed a Cobb salad with beautifully arranged ingredients and super fresh taste.

Gluten eating companions enjoyed a vegetable flatbread and salmon sandwich. No sandwiches on the gluten friendly menu, though I wonder if items could just be ordered without the bread.

Happy hour is available in the bar area and pizza is on the menu. Might be worth a try.

  1. Ate outside last evening. Really enjoyed the meal despite lackadaisical service.

There is a gluten free menu and I was delighted that the daily special, $12 Bottomless Spaghetti and Chop Salad, could be ordered gluten free. The server informed me of a $2 upcharge for GF which did not appear on the bill.

My pasta was well cooked and clearly a different shape (short, curly). The gluten pasta was spaghetti topped with meatballs.

The salad was brought to the table at the same time as the pasta and could have been a meal in itself.

I have no hesitation in recommending Pinstripes as long as you are prepared for a very leisurely dining experience.

  2. Celebrating the fathers in our family along with a birthday last weekend we took a couple of hours to get in two games of bowling followed by dinner. Everyone enjoyed their meals – soups, salads, and entrees around the table. The gluten-free options were varied and substantial. I chose the Italian ‘Jambalaya’ a combination of meats and seafoods combined in a super tasty sauce and served over a quite nice risotto! The staff was knowledgeable and attentive, the service super!

    1. Based on your recommendation above I asked my hubby to go there for our anniversary in July. (our 40th) The food was excellent (I had short ribs, hubby has the jambalaya) and the service was outstanding. When our server heard about 40 years she brought us complimentary champagne, and the manager comped our dessert (flourless chocolate torte) as well. We will certainly be going back!
